Abstract
This research aimed to evaluate the leadership styles of school principals within the scope of the sustaining leadership approach. For this purpose, the leadership styles of the school principals they were working with were evaluated using the scanning method with the participation of 543 teachers, and the findings were analyzed and interpreted. The research was carried out in schools continuing education activities in Bornova District of Izmir Province. For the research to be carried out properly, the research area was narrowed down, and the study was conducted in high schools. For this purpose, an effort was made to reach all high schools. On this occasion, survey questions were sent to teachers working in 26 high schools, and their answers were collected. In the research, statements revealing the leadership styles of school principals according to teachers' gender, age and institution type were included. According to the research findings, teachers' evaluation of school principals' leadership styles, depending on gender and age factors, was found to be statistically significant. It was determined that the difference between the type of institution where teachers work and their perceptions of school principals' leadership styles was not statistically significant. The study's results were analyzed and interpreted, and suggestions were made.
